Diverse Clinical Experience
Our program offers both inpatient and outpatient Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry training across a wide range of specialties. Fellows gain hands-on experience working with:
- Hospice & Palliative Care teams
- Ethics Consult services
- Geriatrics, Neurology, Oncology, Transplant Psychiatry
- Pain, HIV, Maternal-Infant Psychiatry
- Integrated Care, ECT, and Telepsychiatry
Interdisciplinary Training
Fellows work alongside a rich team of medical students, residents, PhD psychologists, social workers, and clinical nurse specialists in a truly collaborative, interdisciplinary environment.
Integrated Care Training
As part of UW Medicine, a national leader in integrated care, all fellows receive advanced training in delivering psychiatric treatment in primary care settings.
Features include:
- Weekly Integrated Care Didactics (2 hours/week)
- Hands-on management of an integrated care clinic
- Optional implementation project with expert mentorship
- Certificate in Integrated Care awarded upon completion
Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT)
Home to the development of DBT, the University of Washington offers fellows:
- A specialized 2-day workshop by Dr. Marsha Linehan’s team
- Ongoing weekly DBT seminar
These skills are especially impactful in high-acuity inpatient settings, improving patient outcomes and physician well-being.
